A significant reorganisation of the union cabinet is anticipated in June; more than a dozen ministers may leave or have their responsibilities changed.

Between June 15 and June 18, the Union Council of Ministers is expected to undergo a significant reorganisation. There are indications that over a dozen ministers, including a number of Ministers of State (MoSs), may be removed or moved as the BJP leadership gets ready for organisational and political realignment in advance of the pivotal Assembly elections.
Party sources predict that three MoSs and at least two Cabinet ministers will leave the cabinet. Within the next several days, one senior Cabinet minister is probably going to be tasked with leading the BJP in a politically important southern state. A number of ministers will likely be reallocated to different portfolios as part of the reorganisation, which is also anticipated to involve leadership changes in ten to twelve ministries.

There is increasing conjecture that NDA allies including the JD(U), TDP, NCP, and RLM would be included in the extended Cabinet, with the former two perhaps receiving more participation. One or two leaders may be appointed as Cabinet ministers, but the majority of ally representatives are anticipated to be accommodated at the MoS level. According to senior BJP leaders, a reorganisation is being planned with an emphasis on social and regional representation, especially with poll-bound regions like Punjab and Uttar Pradesh in mind.
Organisational adjustments that the BJP has already started are thought to be preludes to a reshuffle. Harsh Malhotra, the MoS for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport and Highways, has been chosen Delhi BJP president, while Union MoS for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has been nominated BJP chief for Uttar Pradesh.Additionally, the party is getting ready to name a new president for the Manipur BJP and is probably going to name a Cabinet minister to lead the Karnataka BJP. According to sources, the BJP might use the Rajya Sabha to help Manipur get representation in the Union Cabinet.
It is possible that a number of ministers whose Rajya Sabha tenure are coming to an end later this year or in early 2027 may be transferred to organisational positions. It is also thought that some Rajya Sabha members and ministers over 70 are being considered for replacement in order to make room for younger politicians.
Depending on their seniority and organisational expertise, some BJP Morcha leaders may be appointed to the Cabinet for the first time, according to sources. There are rumours that another MP from the same caste group could take the seat of a Bihar Cabinet member.
One MoS each from a southern state, the Northeast, and Uttar Pradesh are allegedly under investigation. Changes in responsibility may also affect a number of senior Cabinet members who oversee important portfolios.
Railways, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Coal, Textiles, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, Rural Development, Chemicals and Fertilisers, Cooperation, Fisheries, Jal Shakti, Agriculture, Environment, and Law are among the ministries that are expected to undergo changes. Rather than being handled separately, some ministries can have their own Cabinet ministers.

The party is also debating the distribution of ministerial positions associated with allies in Bihar. According to party sources, alliance partners from the state may be given seats in the MoS's Human Resource Development and Civil Aviation ministries.
