According to a report, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will make his debut in India and surpass Sachin Tendulkars record.

The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is now the center of attention in Indian cricket, is expected to add another accomplishment to his CV. According to rumours, he has been shortlisted to make his senior India debut. Along with a number of other potential players, Sooryavanshi is allegedly on the list of candidates for India's visit of Ireland. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee is still eager to test the club's bench strength, so it is generally assumed that the roster will include a second-string team.He and several other players have been shortlisted by the selectors for the Ireland tour, an Indian cricket board insider told the Indian Express.

The report claims that Vaibhav will be chosen for both the tour of Zimbabwe later this year and the forthcoming series in Ireland.
Vaibhav, who has previously shattered a number of age-group cricket records, has given the Rajasthan Royals a strong start to the IPL 2026 season. His incredible 26-ball 78 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 17-ball 52 against Chennai Super Kings, and 14-ball 39 against Mumbai Indians prompted experts and former cricket players to support his inclusion in the senior national team.
Even IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said that Vaibhav should break Sachin Tendulkar's and Shafali Verma's records as India's youngest debutant."Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's batting performance for IPL 2026 season was incredible. Given his skills, this youngster most definitely deserves to be the youngest member of Team India @BCCI. You don't often get to pick up someone who is both so young and so talented. "He definitely deserves to be listed as India's youngest debutant," IPL chairman Arun Dhumal remarked on X.
Vaibhav seems ready to be promoted to the national team, according to other retired Indian internationals like Anil Kumble and Irfan Pathan.

Tendulkar, who made his debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days, is currently the youngest men's player to have represented India internationally. Shafali Verma, who made her debut for the Indian women's team at the age of fifteen years, seven months, and twenty-seven days, now holds the national record.
Following the Ireland series, India is also slated to tour England, where they will play three ODIs and five T20Is beginning on July 1. The BCCI is probably going to make it easier for veteran players to return for the England assignment.
