According to the rumours, only the official announcement is still due; the final decision has already been made inside.

According to reports, the BJD has given its nod for Manoj Mishra, a former president of the Nuapada district, to run in the important by-election.

Mishra, the BJD's general secretary at the moment, has also held the position of Komna block chairman twice. He is thought to have gained the party's trust because to his extensive organisational background and solid local ties.
Following an abrupt change in the district's political landscape, the BJD made the move in an attempt to strengthen its support base in Nuapada. Party leaders at Naveen Niwas have reportedly already approved Mishra's bid, and an official announcement is anticipated soon.

Following Jay Dholakia's BJP Join, BJD Takes Action
The move comes days after Jay Dholakia, son of former minister and BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), dealing the minority party a serious blow.

In the meantime, the by-election notification was released by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Nominations must be submitted by October 20. On October 22, they must be reviewed, and on October 24, they must withdraw their papers. November 11 is the day of voting, while November 14 is the day of counting.
