In PM Modis "Mann Ki Baat," Odisha farmer Hirod Patel receives special recognition.

In the 131st episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi complimented Hirod Patel, a young farmer from Odisha, calling his path inspirational and life-changing. The Prime Minister praised Hirod's creative approach to agriculture and said his story demonstrates how new ideas may transform the farming industry.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi mentioned that Hirod and his father, Shiv Shankar Patel, had been growing paddy in the traditional way till roughly eight years ago. But later on, he adopted a different viewpoint on farming, which resulted in significant advancements and financial success.
Transitioning from Conventional to Creative Farming
The Prime Minister claimed that Hirod gradually changed his farming methods while taking inspiration from his father. He expanded into fish and banana farming in addition to traditional paddy production.

According to PM Modi, he now blends paddy production with fish farming in the pond, fruit trees like banana, guava, and coconut surrounding it, and vine vegetables planted on a net over his pond.
He added that farmers from all around the region now flock to study his concept since it maximizes land utilization, conserves water, and increases revenue.
By growing fish, bananas, and paddy, Hirod Patel has made substantial income. Due of his success, a lot of people have come to see and learn about his agricultural practices.
An Example for Future Farmers
PM Modi suggested that creativity and adaptation are essential to bolstering agriculture and encouraged others to take inspiration from Hirod's farming methods.

By taking a new approach and expanding on historic knowledge, Hirod has shown how young farmers can support the expansion and sustainability of the industry.
