Following their thrilling 2-0 home series triumph against Pakistan, which was also a part of the World Test Championship, Bangladeshi players made notable strides in the most recent ICC Men's Test Player Rankings. One of the greatest winners was veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored a series-high 259 runs in four innings. In the ICC Test batting rankings, the seasoned right-hander moved up ten spots to share 16th place. Litton Das, a fellow Bangladeshi batsman, too had a great comeback, rising 14 places to 24th after amassing 239 runs throughout the series.
Australia, who finished second in the WTC 2025, are at the top of the table with a rating of 131 after 24 games. India is ranked third, and South Africa is ranked second.
The series victory also helped Bangladeshi bowlers.Taijul Islam, a left-arm spinner, set a new career-best rating and moved up two spots to 11th in the ICC Test bowling rankings. Fast bowler Nahid Rana rose ten spots to 54th, while off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz climbed two spots to 25th.
Additionally, Taijul moved up three spots to 29th place in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings. Even though Pakistan lost the series, there was some good news: after making a comeback in the second Test in Sylhet, bowler Khurram Shahzad returned to the ICC Test bowling rankings in 49th place.
Following the conclusion of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series between Nepal, the United States, and Scotland, there were also significant shifts in the ODI rankings.
All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee rose eight ranks to joint 91st in the ODI batting rankings, while wicketkeeper-batter Aasif Sheikh rose five spaces to joint 81st for Nepal, which won three games during the tri-series.
In the ODI bowling rankings, Nepali bowlers Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi both saw improvements, moving up to 32nd and equal 47th, respectively.
In the ODI batting rankings, Scotland's outstanding all-rounder Brandon McMullen climbed four spots to 49th.
In the ODI bowling rankings, USA spinner Nosthush Kenjige moved up ten spots to 49th, while teammate Milind Kumar moved up four spaces to equal 18th in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
