It is anticipated that Prithvi Shaw will join the Maharashtra cricket team and play under the captaincy of a CSK star.

Ignored cricket star Prithvi Shaw made headlines on Monday when he requested Mumbai Cricket Association for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for another team in domestic cricket.

As per reports published in some sections of media, Shaw has got offers to play Ranji Trophy for two-three states. It has been learnt that Shaw is likely to join Maharashtra Cricket Team. If Shaw joins the Maharashtra team, he will be playing under the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has confirmed receiving Shaw's request and has given its approval to it.

"The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) would like to inform that cricketer Prithvi Shaw had formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent another state as a professional player in the upcoming domestic season. After due consideration, the MCA has granted the NOC, " stated MCA.

Notably, after showing initial promise, aggressive opener Shaw lost his way in international cricket. He was dropped from the Indian team. He was also not retained by his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals due to poor form. Making things worse, he found no takers in the IPL 2025 auction.
