During Thursday's Rath Yatra event in Puri, two persons died after becoming ill in the midst of the large crowd. According to reports, a 60-year-old man died from breathing problems, while another person died from what appeared to be a cardiac arrest.
Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister, expressed his profound sorrow over the untimely deaths. He gave senior officials instructions to make sure anybody who were hurt or sick during the event received the best care possible.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Chief Minister's Advisor Prakash Mishra visited the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Thursday night to assess the situation.Speaking to the media, they verified that six or seven devotees who had unexpectedly become ill were transported to the institution at the same time.
The 60-year-old male devotee was one of them who died. Although officials stated that the precise cause of death will only be determined following the post-mortem investigation and the ensuing police report, another person is thought to have died from a heart attack.

During the parade, the visiting dignitaries explained the medical condition and made it clear that there was no administrative error or crowd control.
"I want to make it clear that there was no stampede situation," stated Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling. Nevertheless, six or seven people were brought to the Puri DHH for suffocation treatment. While some people have been released from the hospital, others are still receiving treatment.

Prakash Mishra, the advisor to the chief minister of Odisha, confirmed the remarks about the event's overall safety."There was no stampede situation," Mishra stated. However, seven people reported having trouble breathing; this is a common occurrence in large groups. They were brought to the hospital right away, but we were only able to save one of them. The remaining patients were all well and receiving treatment.
