In several Odisha districts, including Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Kendujhar, a massive operation aimed at alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators is presently in progress. District administration authorities have jumped into action and are conducting raids to identify suspects in accordance with stringent directions from the Odisha government.
Four suspected infiltrators were taken into custody after police in Jagatsinghpur destroyed a suspected hideout in the Beherampur region. In a similar vein, 17 suspected young people who had been under surveillance for a few days were captured by police authorities in Bhadrak. According to officials, these people had been working in different areas of the city for a long time, frequently traveling and doing business locally.
To aid in the crackdown, the authorities in Keonjhar announced a 12-hour bandh, during which time all businesses, marketplaces, schools, universities, and vehicles were prohibited. The bandh sought to limit the mobility of suspected individuals and guarantee efficient police operations.
State Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan emphasized the Odisha government's resolve to expelling all suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators from the state while issuing a warning that severe measures against illegal migrants would continue.
To avoid interference with the continuing operations, police officers in all impacted districts have stepped up security and monitoring.
"The procedure has already started, and the intruders will face severe consequences. The Law Minister declared, "We are identifying the infiltrators, and the necessary steps will be taken to deport them."
In order to identify, capture, and remove suspected infiltrators from Odisha, officials indicated that raids and arrests will continue in a coordinated manner throughout the state.
