Odishas capital region ring road project, valued at Rs 8,300 crore, is moving forward with the completion of the tender.

With the completion of the bids for three packages under the Hybrid Annuity Mode, the Capital Region Ring Road project has advanced.
An important step toward the long-overdue infrastructure project's implementation has been taken with the selection of three construction companies to carry out the three packages.
The 110-kilometer, six-lane ring road will link Govindpur–Cuttack Tangi and Khordha Rameswar–Bilipada. The project aims to improve connectivity around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and relieve traffic burden in the capital region.Project Scope and Investment
Approximately Rs 1,500 crore would be spent on each project phase. By March of next year, the project is anticipated to start. For the Capital Region Ring Road project, the Indian government has invested a total of Rs 8,300 crore.

"The Government of India made a huge investment of Rs 8,300 crore for the Capital Region Ring Road," stated Virendra Singh, Regional Officer, NHAI. In addition to other necessities, the fund covers land purchase, utilities, forest clearances, finances, and GST.

He added, "Of the three packages of the Capital Region Ring Road, we have identified the L1 package. Each bundle is roughly 40 kilometers long. We have met nearly all of the requirements. The transfer of land, which is now in progress, accounts for 90% of the work.
Clearances and Improvements to Highways
All three packages have already had their financial bids opened. The Union Ministry of Forests and Environment recently gave its approval.
When the ring road is finished, it should ease traffic on National Highway 16 and lessen congestion between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. In order to improve safety and visibility, NH-16 will also be upgraded with Rs 60 crore, which will include the installation of contemporary signboards, road studs, flexible road markers, and high-mast lights.
