Piyush Goyal, the minister of commerce and industry in New Delhi, met with Anwar bin Hilal bin Hamdoun Al Jabri, his colleague from Oman, on Monday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral investment and trade.
Goyal has met with the trade ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait in recent days.spoke over the phone with Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, HE Anwar bin Hilal bin Hamdoun Al Jabri. Goyal wrote on social media, "We talked about opening up opportunities under the India-Oman CEPA to boost bilateral trade and investment ties for the mutual growth of both nations."
In December 2025, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was signed in Muscat. It hasn't been put into practice yet.
98% of India's exports, including textiles, agricultural products, and leather goods, would have duty-free access to Oman thanks to the agreement.
However, India would lower its duties on Omani goods like marbles, dates, and petrochemicals.
In 2024–2025, bilateral trade between India and Oman was approximately $10.5 billion, consisting of $4 billion in exports and $6.54 billion in imports.
