Red-faced, Keir Starmer waits in queue behind foreign leaders in Egypt to shake hands with Trump.

During a summit in Egypt supporting the resolution of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Sir Keir Starmer appeared to be embarrassed as he stood in queue with other world leaders to shake hands with US President Donald Trump. After arriving in the sweltering desert heat, the UK prime minister was left looking red-faced and had to wait in queue behind Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi. After overseeing the signing of a historic ceasefire deal with Hamas, Trump appeared in court.
In his suit, Starmer was seen fidgeting. But as a number of important countries supported Trump's peace plan for Gaza, he later emphasised that the summit was a "historic first step towards ending the war in the Middle East." Finally, all 20 surviving Hamas hostages have been freed. The hostages were released in two groups: one of seven and another of thirteen. The release took place in phases.

President Trump, who was speaking alongside Mr. el-Sissi, stated, "We have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to put the old feuds and bitter hatreds behind us."

Additionally, he called on leaders to "state that the battles of previous generations will not govern our future."
