As the US blockade of Iranian ports goes into effect, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar discussed the West Asia situation with his counterparts from Kuwait and Singapore on Monday.

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the US military will launch a blockade to prevent ships from entering or exiting the Strait of Hormuz and to halt all commerce to Iranian ports beginning at 10 am ET (7:30 pm Indian time) on Monday, only hours after the Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad came to a standstill.
