Starting in 2026, the Asian Champions League will have 32 teams instead of just 24.

The region's football governing body announced on Tuesday that the Asian Champions League will "promote inclusivity and excellence" and will grow from 24 to 32 clubs. The Asian Football Confederation hailed the decision as a "landmark expansion" and stated that it will go into force for the upcoming season once it is approved by the executive committee.
Before moving on to the knockout stages, the highest club competition on the continent is divided into two groups, East and West.
The two groups will grow from 12 to 16 teams each in 2026–2027, although the overall format will stay the same.This week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the 2025–2026 campaign's final 16 and quarterfinal matches will be played.
