After Sandipan Garg, an APS official, was detained in relation to Zubeen Garg's killing, the Assam government suspended him on October 8. Zubeen's cousin Sandipan is a DSP.
Sandipan accompanied the singer to Singapore. According to reports, he was on the yacht on September 19, when the Ya Ali singer passed away while swimming.
According to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sandipan is charged with murder, culpable homicide that does not qualify as murder, criminal conspiracy, and causing death by negligence.
Following Sandipan's arrest, Garima, Zubeen Garg's wife, spoke to reporters in Assam. She disclosed the former feelings the renowned musician had for his cousin.
Sandipan was interested in acting and modelling before joining the police force. He would visit us. He worked with us on modelling assignments three or four times. Garima told reporters, "He was good in that."
"Zubin was constantly supportive of new abilities. Zubeen always adored him because he was his sibling (first cousin). Zubeen was always proud of him when he joined APS, Garima recalled.
"Zubeen used to boast to everyone about how tall he was and how attractive he was. He wants to be a police officer. He was therefore proud of him," she continued.
Zubeen liked to brag about his height and good looks to everybody. His career goal is to become a police officer. That's why he was proud of him," she added.
Garima also discussed Sandipan's apprehension.
Perhaps they have a hint in his statement. Thus, the process of research is underway. They have their own path. I am unable to comment on it. She stated that the law and the investigation should proceed in their own way and let things unfold naturally.
"Everyone in Zubeen's family, the rest of Assam, and all of her lovers are anticipating the outcome." But the process will continue. That's what we believe. We trust the Indian legal system and the judges. I believe they will follow the correct course, and they will be able to provide us with some results regarding it shortly," she continued.
