Trimurti Films has filed a complaint against filmmaker Aditya Dhar's production company, B62 Studios, claiming that the song Tirchi Topiwale was utilised in Dhurandhar 2 without 'authorisation', according to Bar and Bench.

The issue is over the rights to Tirchi Topiwale, a song originally produced by Kalyanji-Anandji with lyrics by Anand Bakshi for the 1989 film Tridev. The song was performed by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.
According to Bar and Bench, Trimurti Films claims that the music, or a version substantially identical to it, was utilised in Dhurandhar 2's song Rang De Lal without the requisite licenses or rights.According to sources acquainted with the issue, the corporation has claimed ownership and control of the applicable rights to both the musical composition and the sound recording. "It has alleged that the use amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and communication of the work to the public," the report states.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction prohibiting any further use of the song, as well as damages and other relevant relief. Trimurti Films has reportedly expressed worries over the song's potential commercial exploitation via theatrical releases, streaming platforms, and promotional materials, according to the article.
Dhurandhar 2 contains elements of the original song in Rang De Lal, which also includes new words and singers. Shashwat Sachdev mixed and created the new version. The original songwriters and performers are credited in the song's lyric video, which T-Series posted on YouTube.
In the music credits for Rang De Lal, Kalyanji-Anandji are mentioned alongside Shashwat Sachdev; Amit Kumar is credited as a singer alongside Jasmine Sandlas, Afsana Khan, and Reble; and Anand Bakshi is credited as a lyricist alongside Jasmine Sandlas and Reble.
Dhurandhar 2 opened in theatres on March 19 and has now grossed more than Rs 1,000 crore in net domestic receipts in India. The film was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Ranveer Singh stars as the main, with R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor also playing important roles.
