A police constable in Phulbani was severely hurt in a horrifying event on Friday when he was viciously attacked in the middle of the road during the day. According to reports, the unsettling incident happened in plain sight at Jagannath Temple Square.
According to accounts, Constable Manoranjan Sabat was brutally kicked and pummeled by two people, leaving him bleeding on the pavement. No one moved to halt the assault or voice a protest, even though the incident was taking place in front of multiple witnesses.
In critical condition, the injured constable was taken to Berhampur Hospital for treatment.
Constable Sabat has been suspended in response to the incident, according to Phulbani SDPO.According to reports, he had traveled to Phulbani for personal business and knew the attackers personally.
According to the SDPO, police have detained two people in relation to the assault and sent them to court.I ask that the Police Department give the increasing number of crime incidences in Phulbani immediate attention.
