Record voter turnout in the most recent assembly elections, according to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Friday, demonstrated Indians' faith in the democratic process and the robustness of the nation's democracy. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to voters for taking part in the electoral rolls' Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Kumar stated that elections in India are held strictly in compliance with the Constitution, electoral laws, and EC recommendations when speaking at the Election Commission's inaugural All India Media Conference.
Over 380 media experts from states and Union territories attended the day-long conference, which had as its theme "Connecting stakeholders, strengthening democracy: Role of media in elections."

According to Kumar, a number of stakeholders are simultaneously examining the electoral process. He described India's electoral rolls, which include around 95 crore voters, as a "living document" that is updated on a regular basis thanks to the active participation of more than 12 lakh booth level officers (BLOs) and 15 lakh booth level agents (BLAs), who serve as concurrent auditors.
The goal of the conference was to advance knowledge of India's electoral system and the procedures that guarantee election transparency and stakeholder participation.
