"You Can Meet Me Easily": Vijay Addresses Voters Despite Criticism from the Opposition

TVK head Vijay promised voters in Perambur and Trichy East, the constituencies he is running from, that he will be "easily" accessible to the public during the release of the party's electoral manifesto for the next Tamil Nadu elections.
One of the primary complaints levelled against the actor-politician since the establishment of his political party in 2024 has been his purported inaccessibility. He has frequently been referred to as a "work-from-home politician" by opposition leaders. This narrative has also been a major issue of contention for rival candidates in both constituencies.
While endorsing DMK candidate Inigo Irudayaraj during a campaign in Trichy East, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin subtly disparaged Vijay, emphasising Irudayaraj's grassroots strategy.

Irudayaraj would visit people in their homes, support them in good times and bad, and not expect constituents to come to him for assistance, he said.
In response to this criticism on Thursday, Vijay declared that Trichy East and Perambur are "extra special" to him. He promised that people could readily meet him and that he would visit his constituencies at least once a month.
Vijay declared, "Every Tamil Nadu constituency is ours," following the release of the manifesto. Representatives will be present everywhere. However, I am the MLA for my constituency. We are certain that we will form the government. Every month, I will travel to my constituency. I'm easy to meet. Don't assume it will be challenging. In the past, Vijay has also come under fire, especially following the Karur event, when the families of the victims were invited to visit him in Chennai. TVK, however, asserted that Vijay's travel to Karur had been refused permission by the DMK government.
Vijay was criticised by the opposition for being a "weekend" politician when he began his statewide tour in September of last year and exclusively ran on Saturdays.
Tamil Nadu will hold elections on April 23 for 234 Assembly seats, and the results will be tallied on May 4.
