The controversy surrounding the death of well-known Odia playback singer Humane Sagar has taken a more serious turn. Senior music director Prem Anand claims that the 36-year-old artist was manipulated through personal vulnerabilities for months, forced to perform while ill, and emotionally exploited.
Anand stated in a thorough conversation with OTV that Humane was "very simple and often got emotionally trapped," implying that people in his immediate vicinity exploited his vulnerability.
Humane frequently showed a tremendous wish to see his small daughter, but Anand disclosed that he was not always permitted to do so. "Who was stopping him from seeing his own child?" he asked, speculating that the singer's mental health might have been negatively damaged by the denial of a personal link.
"His health issues gave me pain to watch," the composer continued, adding that he had seen Humane's physical suffering firsthand. His remarks imply that Humane's declining health might have been caused by both work strain and emotional manipulation.
"I won't point the finger at anyone, but after a lengthy talk with Humane, he sobbed and confided in me. He shared with me a number of issues that were impacting his life. I had requested that he take a break from music and stop performing until his health healed. After the Bali Yatra and Nuapada elections, we were meant to have a news conference, but God had other ideas," Prem Anand stated.Shefali is seen in the video straining to talk while grieving, and Papu accuses her of "creating drama before the media." When Papu says he has unlocked Humane's cell phone, the argument intensifies and concerns are raised about why the phone was accessed and what information might be on it.
Despite being ill, the singer was forced to perform.
Anand's assertions support earlier accusations made by Humane's mother, who said that two managers and event organizers constantly made him perform despite his son's obvious illness.
Videos of Humane performing while coughing, perspiring, and seeming exhausted have gone viral, bolstering her accusations. Additionally, according to family sources, a program was planned even on the day he was admitted to the hospital, and when he was transported for treatment, supervisors allegedly distanced themselves and avoided accepting accountability.

Police have not yet published an official statement detailing the contents of the phone unlocked by manager Papu, nor have they commented on whether it would be included as evidence in the inquiry.
The accusations of undue work pressure and emotional intervention, which have been a major focus of public scrutiny following the music director's statements, have not yet been addressed by the officers.Prem Anand said that people should let the police carry out their duties and urged solidarity for the late singer's family.
