Bangladesh asks NSA Doval to visit Dhaka a few days after former PM Hasina was sentenced to death.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Doval will host his colleagues from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and the Maldives at the Colombo Security Conclave.
Bangladesh's National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman has extended an invitation to Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to visit Dhaka amid strained bilateral relations. In advance of the 7th Meeting of the National Security Advisers of the Colombo Security Conclave on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Bangladeshi side issued the invitation during a meeting between the two NSAs in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The Bangladeshi team led by Mr. Rahman's visit has garnered interest since it began the day after the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) sentenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in exile in India, to death. According to a news release from the Bangladeshi High Commission, Mr. Doval and Mr. Rahman's meeting covered "key bilateral issues."
The Ministry of External Affairs said that Mr. Doval will host colleagues from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and the Maldives at the Colombo Security Conclave. Seychelles will also participate in the meeting as a "Observer State." According to the MEA, Malaysia has been invited as a guest.

According to a statement from the MEA, activities under the categories of "Maritime Safety and Security; Countering Terrorism and Radicalization; Combating Transnational Organized Crime; Cyber Security and Protection of Critical Infrastructure and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief" will be reviewed by the National Security Advisers and other security-related officials from the member nations of the Colombo Security Conclave.
Additionally, the officials will finalize the 2026 Roadmap and Action Plan.
