CM Yogi Adityanath: Vande Mataram singing will be required in UP schools.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Monday that singing "Vande Mataram" would be required in all Uttar Pradesh educational institutions. This announcement came amid a political dispute over the national song, which PM Modi claimed last week had significant passages removed in 1937.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been under pressure from the Congress to apologise after he claimed on Friday that significant passages from "Vande Mataram" were omitted in 1937, sowing the seeds of split. Such a "divisive mindset" is still a problem for the nation, according to PM Modi.
The Congress said on Sunday that Rabindranath Tagore and the Congress Working Committee of 1937, which released a statement over the song, were "insulted" by the prime minister.

Party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said on X on Sunday, "The Congress Working Committee met in Kolkata, October 26-November 1, 1937." Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sarojini Naidu, J B Kripalani, Bhulabhai Desai, Jamnalal Bajaj, Narendra Deva, and others were among those in attendance.
According to the Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi Volume 66, page 46, Rabindranath Tagore's counsel had a significant impact on the CWC's October 28, 1937, statement on Vande Mataram.
"Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and this CWC have both been disrespected by the prime minister.

Ramesh stated, "It is shocking but not surprising that he should have done so because the RSS had no part in our freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi."
The opposition party insisted that PM Modi should focus his political struggles on contemporary concerns of everyday concern and requested an apology from him about the matter.
Following the start of the year-long celebration of "Vande Mataram" to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song, PM Modi made the remarks.
