The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has announced fresh opportunities for young graduates and diploma holders through its Apprentice Recruitment 2025 drive. The notification, issued by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in Hyderabad, invites applications for 195 apprenticeship positions across multiple disciplines.
The apprenticeship program will be conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and offers candidates hands-on training in advanced defence technologies. The engagement will be for one year, providing invaluable exposure to DRDO’s cutting-edge projects and research facilities. Selected apprentices will get the chance to work with scientists and engineers at RCI, a key DRDO laboratory specializing in missile systems and related technologies.
The available positions are divided among Graduate Apprentices, Diploma Apprentices, and Trade Apprentices, covering engineering streams such as Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science, among others. Applicants are required to have completed their degree, diploma, or ITI qualification in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
The recruitment notification emphasizes that apprentices will receive a stipend as per government norms during the training period. However, candidates should note that this is a training program and does not guarantee permanent employment with DRDO. Still, successful completion of the apprenticeship will enhance employability and industry readiness, particularly in defence and aerospace sectors.
The application process is fully online via the DRDO website. Interested candidates must register and submit their details before the specified deadline. Shortlisting will be based on academic merit, and no written test or interview has been indicated at this stage.
This recruitment drive is seen as part of DRDO’s broader push to nurture skilled human resources in science and technology, while simultaneously supporting India’s vision of self-reliance in defence production.
