Gajapati tribal youngsters overcome connectivity issues and get hired as assistant executive engineers

Prahlad Bhuyan, a tribal kid from Nuagada village under Chelagada panchayat in the Gajapati district of Odisha, has overcome major connectivity and infrastructure obstacles during his studies to land a prominent government job as an Assistant Executive Engineer.
At a recruitment fair held at Kalinga Stadium, Prahlad received his letter of appointment from the Chief Minister, a momentous occasion for his hamlet and the entire region.
Studying on a hilltop for Internet access
Prahlad, who lives in the R. Udayagiri block, had trouble connecting to the cell network in his hamlet. He reportedly climbed a nearby hill every day to access the internet in order to complete his online education, a distance of around two miles. Prahlad persevered in the face of these difficulties and budgetary limitations that kept him from participating in offline coaching programs.

"I was unable to attend offline coaching classes due to financial constraints," he stated. Every morning and evening, I had to drive over two kilometres to a hilltop to study online because there was no network connectivity in my community. I made notes when I got home. I eventually got a job as an assistant executive engineer.
Motivation for the Area
Many neighbours and well-wishers have expressed gratitude for Prahlad's journey from a secluded tribal community to a professional career. His tenacity and commitment have been praised by locals as an encouraging role model for the district's youth. His performance emphasises the need for better digital infrastructure in distant locations in addition to showcasing individual perseverance.
