Gautam Adani Reveals His Huge Bet on Infrastructure, AI, and Nuclear Power

Chairperson Gautam Adani presented an ambitious future plan during the Adani Group's Annual General Meeting, one based on nuclear power, artificial intelligence, and significant infrastructure expenditures.
The chairman of the Adani Group told shareholders on Wednesday that the company is preparing for a future in which national sovereignty, technology, and energy security are all becoming more linked.Despite what he called a time of "extraordinary scrutiny," Adani described FY26 as a pivotal year for the corporation, saying, "We built when it was hardest to build."
The oil sector made the largest announcement.Adani's Initiative in Nuclear Energy
Adani disclosed that the company has officially joined the nuclear energy industry through Adani Atomic Energy. By 2035, the business hopes to have 10 GW of nuclear generating capacity and has located land.
The action represents one of the group's biggest strategic changes in recent years as India searches for clean, 24-hour power to meet growing industrial demand and the quick development of data centers. However, there was much more to the story than just nuclear energy.
Adani claimed that the growing impact of artificial intelligence and India's aspirations for infrastructure are no longer distinct themes.A country's infrastructure gives it strength. "A nation gains mastery through intelligence," he said to shareholders.

By 2030, its data center division hopes to have a 3 GW platform. Additionally, Adani announced a legally binding deal with Google for a gigawatt-scale data center project in Visakhapatnam, indicating the magnitude of AI-driven demand anticipated in the years to come.
According to the chairman, infrastructure—from ports, logistical hubs, and data centers to energy systems and transmission networks—will become more and more important to technology leadership.
In order to support that goal, the group made infrastructure investments totaling more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore in FY26. According to Adani, this amount accounted for more than 30% of all new capital expenditures made by the private sector in India during that year. The core of that growth continues to be the energy industry.

Additionally, the group reported work on a collaboration to create 5,000 MW of hydropower projects with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation.
Logistics and Transportation Milestones
Adani cited operational milestones in logistics and transportation.Adani Ports aims to transport one billion tonnes of cargo by 2030, having handled over 500 million tonnes in FY26. In its first year of operation, the group's flagship Vizhinjam port surpassed one million TEUs, making it one of the nation's fastest-growing ports.Adani emphasized the opening of Guwahati Airport's new integrated terminal and Navi Mumbai International Airport. Built in just over four years and built to accommodate 90 million people a year, he called Navi Mumbai Airport a world-record infrastructure project.

Additionally, the company is expanding its involvement in aerospace and defense.
According to Adani, collaborations with Leonardo and Embraer are fostering the development of domestic manufacturing ecosystems for regional airplanes and helicopters. He added that during Operation Sindoor, the group's missiles, ammo, anti-drone systems, and drones helped the Indian military.
Development in the Face of Strict Scrutiny
The group recorded yet another year of growth in its finances.EBITDA was at Rs 94,834 crore, while consolidated revenue increased by 7.4% to Rs 2.92 lakh crore. At Rs 46,376 crore, profit after taxes rose by over 14%.
During the AGM, Adani also discussed the group's ability to bounce back from a period of heavy scrutiny. He called the Rs 25,000 crore rights issue that was finished earlier this year "a referendum on our credibility" and expressed gratitude to shareholders for supporting the business.
Beyond business, the chairman presented strategies to improve employee welfare, streamline organizational structures, and increase healthcare and education programs via the Adani Foundation.
As the foundation approaches its 30th year, the organization intends to expand healthcare initiatives, such as the Adani Health City campuses in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, while maintaining skill-development initiatives throughout rural India.
For Gautam Adani, who gave one of the group's most important yearly speeches to celebrate his birthday, the vision was more about the next generation of India's growth story than it was about the upcoming quarter.
