Hardik Pandya Is The Real Winner After Gesture For Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Following Fierce IPL Innings For RR vs MI

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's long-awaited showdown with Jasprit Bumrah saw the 15-year-old phenom smash two sixes in one over against the speed genius in Tuesday's IPL 2026 encounter between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals. Sooryavanshi scored 39 off 14 balls in the rain-shortened 11-overs-per-side encounter, helping RR reach 50 runs in just 2.4 overs. MI captain Hardik Pandya was pleased by Sooryavanshi's performance and congratulated him after the game. "It's quite fascinating to see a 17 or 16 year old boy playing the way he did."

"So yeah, it's remarkable to see how he bats, the kind of fearlessness he has, and the shots he takes. "I wish him the best of luck in the future," he continued.
Talking about the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turned a rain-shortened IPL match into a pyrotechnics display as Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 27 runs on Tuesday.
Rajasthan scored an impressive 150 for 3 in 11 overs, courtesy of Jaiswal's unbeaten 32-ball 77 and Sooryavanshi's explosive 39 after being called in to bat.
The opening pair lay the groundwork with a quick 80-run stand, pounding the boundary with a barrage of strokes, including nine sixes between them.Jaiswal anchored the innings with authority, combining elegance and brute force as he hit 10 fours and four sixes, dominating terms from the beginning.
Their bowlers then made a concerted effort to reduce the Mumbai Indians to 123 for 9.
Under pressure to score more than 13 runs per over, Mumbai's chase never truly took off. Their entire hierarchy came crashing down. Ryan Rickelton (8), Rohit Sharma (5), and Suryakumar Yadav (6) all fell cheaply, putting MI at 23 for 3 after the first three overs.
Tilak Varma (14) and skipper Hardik Pandya (9) attempted to rebuild with a few boundaries, but Rajasthan's bowlers maintained tight lines and hit at regular intervals to keep the game under control.

There was a small break in the field, with a couple of misfields and missed opportunities, which Sherfane Rutherford seized on to score a quick 25 from eight balls.
However, Rajasthan immediately reclaimed control, with Sandeep Sharma lunging forward to make a superb low grab to dismiss Rutherford.
