In an effort to promote austerity, PM Modi orders a reduction in convoy size and demands more electric vehicles

In an effort to encourage austerity and lower fuel use in light of the current state of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered a 50% reduction in the number of vehicles in his convoy. Additionally, the Prime Minister has requested that the Special Protection Group (SPG), which is in charge of his security, increase the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in his carcade. However, he has emphasised that new cars should not be bought for this purpose.
According to the most recent sources, the SPG has started carrying out these directives while making sure that the required safety standards outlined in the "Blue Book" are not violated.
The states run by the Bharatiya Janata Party are now mirroring the austerity campaign.Other ministers have made the decision to cut back on the number of vehicles in their official convoys, including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
In light of the Prime Minister's recent request to reduce unnecessary travel and conserve national resources, the action is being viewed as part of larger initiatives to promote responsible fuel use and administrative austerity.

PM Modi asked, urging citizens to adopt what he called "nationally responsible" lifestyle choices and encourage the use of local products. He also urged people to refrain from buying non-essential gold for a year in order to lessen the pressure on foreign exchange outflows and advised against travelling abroad. He claimed that preserving foreign exchange reserves is an act of patriotism and urged people to avoid destination weddings and domestic travel.
In order to lessen the strain on foreign exchange outflows, the prime minister urged the populace to refrain from making unnecessary gold purchases for a year and cautioned against travelling abroad.
He advised people to refrain from travelling abroad for holidays and destination weddings, claiming that saving foreign exchange reserves is a patriotic gesture.Additionally, he advocated for domestic travel and festivities.
