Inventory work at Ratna Bhandar was halted due to the heatwave and will resume in June

The Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath temple's inventory (counting) activities will be discontinued starting tomorrow, May 24, according to a Friday announcement from the temple management. The counting and documenting procedure will continue in June, according to officials, following a review of the current weather and crowd control regulations.
The government claims that the decision was made in light of the extreme heatwave and the large number of devotees who were visiting the shrine.
Authorities believed that carrying out the procedure in the current situation could lead to operational challenges and interfere with the efficient administration of temple operations.

Pay Attention to Future Festivals
The management stated that the impending important Lord Jagannath festivals, including Snana Purnima and the renowned Rath Yatra, are currently receiving extra attention. During the festive season, thousands of devotees are anticipated to congregate in Puri, therefore crowd control, security measures, and the seamless execution of rites will be prioritised.
Officials stated that after evaluating the festival schedule and logistical needs, comprehensive planning for the subsequent stage of the Ratna Bhandar inventory process will be created.
Next Week's Meetings
The Chhattisha Nijog and the temple management committee will hold a series of meetings starting next week, according to the temple administration.
