Kanhu Charan Lenka, a former Union Minister, dies in Bhubaneswar

Kanhu Charan Lenka, a former Union Minister, died on Friday at the age of 86 in a Bhubaneswar private hospital. Lenka had important roles at the Center and in Odisha during her multi-decade political career.
From 1988 until 1994, Lenka was a member of the Rajya Sabha. He carried out his duties as Minister of State for Railways and Agriculture during the time that P. V. Narasimha Rao's cabinet was in power at the Center.
He then continued his state-level public service by serving as an MLA for Choudwar from 1995 to 2000.

At 12:30 pm, his mortal remains were scheduled to be taken to the Assembly grounds, where a number of notable individuals will pay their respects. The body will be transported to Congress Bhavan and Arada village in Nakhara at 1:00 pm. Swargadwar in Puri will host the last ceremonies.

After his passing, politicians and others sent their condolences.
