"MS Dhoni Wants To Sacrifice Ravindra Jadeja": Audacious Theory Surfaces During Trade Talks for Sanju Samson

In response to rumours that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would let go of its seasoned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif recently expressed his opinions. According to a number of sources, CSK is quite likely to exchange Jadeja with Rajasthan Royals captain and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson ahead of the 2018 season's auctions. Kaif said that CSK great MS Dhoni could have been instrumental in starting such trade talks with the first IPL champions, even though the agreement has not yet been announced.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif implied that CSK is now looking for a potential replacement for Dhoni, who is anticipated to retire following the 2026 season.

He added that as the all-rounder was unable to establish himself as a viable captain during IPL 2022, Dhoni may have consented to bring in Samson at Jadeja's expense.
"In 2008, the two players began participating in the IPL. Jadeja hasn't left CSK since he joined. This could be Dhoni's final year if the move goes through. Additionally, Dhoni may decide to retire in the middle of the season. Dhoni may urge Sanju to take over if he arrives and becomes at ease with both Dhoni and the management. As reported by Hindustan Times, Kaif stated, "We need a future captain, but we let go of Jadeja, our match-winner over the years."

"Jadeja was previously appointed captain, but he was unable to handle the situation. He didn't like being in charge. He acknowledged in the middle that he was unable to succeed. Not every player is a good fit to be an IPL captain. In order to bring in a guy who can assume leadership after the Dhoni period, Dhoni wants to sacrifice Jadeja in the long run," he continued.
Interestingly, Jadeja's first IPL team was the Rajasthan Royals. At the age of 19, he made his debut for them in 2008 and was a member of their winning team. After playing for RR for the first two seasons, Jadeja was punished by the IPL in 2010 for trying to break the rules by negotiating a deal directly with the Mumbai Indians.

Jadeja played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 after completing the ban.
Jadeja has been a crucial member of the team since joining CSK in 2012. With the exception of the two years during which CSK was suspended, he has been an integral part of the club for more than ten years, making a substantial contribution to three of their five IPL championships.
