Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Wednesday visited Puri and expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the rituals for the divine bathing ceremony of Lord Balabhadra, Mahaprabhu Jagannath and Devi Subhadra on the auspicious occasion of Deba Snana Purnima.
The CM along with senior officials visited Puri Srimandir and participated in the ‘Mangala Alati’ and other rituals apart from having the darshan of the deities.
“Today, I participated in the Mangala Alati, Pahandi Bije, and had a darshan of the Holy Trinity. Lakhs of devotees have also come for darshan on the auspicious occasion of Snana Purnima. As all arrangements are being properly done, we believe that the upcoming Rath Yatra will be conducted in a smooth manner with the blessings of Lord Jagannath,” said CM Majhi.
On the occasion of Snana Purnima, lakhs of devotees have thronged the piligrim town to have a glimpse of the deities of Puri Srimandir atop the Snana Bedi.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Odisha Police, Puri district administration and other stakeholders have made elaborate arrangements for the devotees to witness the grand bathing ceremony of the deities of Puri Srimandir.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the bathing rituals, the deities will adorn the 'Hati Besha', in an elephant-like attire resembling Lord Ganesha.
Earlier, special traffic advisory was issued by Puri police so that the devotees do not face any kind of problems in visiting the city on the auspicious day.
