Over 93,000 people have registered for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana in Odisha, with Bhadrak at the top of the list.

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana has witnessed significant interest among the people of Odisha, with 93,367 individuals registering for the scheme so far. The initiative aims to promote solar energy adoption by providing subsidies for installing rooftop solar panels in households.

What Odisha Deputy CM Said In Assembly

Sharing the update in the Odisha Assembly on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister, KV Singh Deo, informed that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana scheme has benefited 2,740 beneficiaries in Odisha. To ensure the successful implementation of the program, the Odisha government has allocated Rs 100 crore financial assistance.

Highest Registrations in Bhadrak and Ganjam

Among the districts, Bhadrak has recorded the highest number of registrations, with 17,167 applicants, followed by Ganjam, where 14,189 households have signed up for the scheme.

The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the state's renewable energy goals while reducing electricity costs for households. As registrations continue to rise, the government remains committed to expanding the reach of the program to benefit more citizens.
