Following the explosion at Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station, security has been greatly increased in several important Odisha places. As a precaution, the police have put Puri and Hirakud Dam on high alert.
The district police in Puri have increased security in the vicinity of the bus stop, the railway station, Bada Danda, the beach regions, and the Shree Jagannath Temple. All Inspectors-in-Charge (IICs) have been instructed by Puri SP to maintain a high level of alertness and to monitor sensitive and congested areas around-the-clock.
"The police are working." People are asked to report anything unusual they come across during our search efforts. Additionally, we have stationed trained commandos throughout the Srimandir.
Additionally, we have placed police officers at Puri's access and departure points. Puri SP Prateek Singh said, "The control room is also on high alert, watching for suspicious activities."
The action is intended to reassure pilgrims and visitors to the holy town and avoid any unfortunate incidents.
In a similar vein, security at Sambalpur's Hirakud Dam has been increased in response to new intelligence following the explosion in Delhi. According to Sambalpur SP, the police are keeping a close watch and have stepped up their monitoring and inspection of public spaces and entry points close to the dam.
To ensure maximum vigilance in heavily populated areas, police teams around the state have been directed to undertake random checks at bus stops, train stations, and marketplaces.
