In response to reports that the Afghanistan skipper has remarried, star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has revealed his relationship status. Social media users have been sharing images and videos of Rashid sitting next to a woman dressed in traditional Afghan garb. Notably, Rashid was married for the first time in Kabul in October 2024. On the same evening, Raza Khan, Zakiullah, and Amir Khalil, three of his brothers, also got married. Rashid has revealed that the woman in the picture is, in fact, his wife, confirming his second marriage amid rumors that the Afghan cricketer has remarried.
Additionally, Rashid acknowledged that his second marriage occurred on August 2, 2025, a few months ago. "A woman who embodies love, peace, and a partnership I always hoped for" is what he wrote about his marriage.
"I had my nikkah performed on August 2, 2025, and I married a woman who epitomizes the love, peace, and collaboration I have always desired. This marked the beginning of a new and significant chapter in my life. I recently accompanied my wife to a charity function, and it's distressing to witness presumptions being made about something so basic. The simple truth is that she is my wife and we have nothing to conceal from each other. Rashid posted on Instagram, saying, "Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness, support, and understanding."
For those who don't know, the film was shot at the Rashid Khan Charity Foundation's inauguration in the Netherlands. The purpose of the gathering was to raise awareness of his work on clean water, healthcare, and education for Afghan villages.
With 182 wickets at an average of 13.69 in 108 games and two five-wicket hauls, Rashid, a mainstay of T20 cricket, is the top wicket-taker in T20Is.
Afghanistan did not advance to the semi-finals of the Asia Cup, despite his leadership.
