During his conversation with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval emphasized that improved mutual understanding and trust will result from stable, predictable, and constructive bilateral relations.In keeping with India's "overall approach of mutual sensitivity, mutual interests, and mutual respect," NSA also emphasized the significance of consistently displaying sensitivity to each other's issues of core concern, according to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Tuesday.
On Monday, NSA Doval and Wang Yi met outside of the BRICS National Security Advisors Meeting. Both parties discussed recent developments in bilateral relations and acknowledged the progress made toward the gradual normalization of ties during their talks.The meeting was also attended by Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and other officials.
Top security officials from member nations gathered in New Delhi for the two-day BRICS National Security Advisors' Meeting, which was sponsored by India. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss changing global security problems and to enhance collaboration on important strategic topics.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also visited by the heads of delegation and national security advisors from the BRICS nations.PM Modi expressed his happiness at meeting the senior security personnel and visiting security advisers on X.

"In a world that is changing, BRICS is essential to strengthening security cooperation and tackling common issues including cyber security, terrorism, and emerging technology. Following the conference, he wrote on X, "India's Chairmanship will seek to advance practical cooperation, support the priorities of the Global South, and contribute to a safer, more secure, and inclusive world."
The NSAs and chiefs of delegation from the BRICS nations discussed global security issues at the two-day gathering.The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a statement after the meeting that said, "In the non-traditional realm, they discussed challenges related to energy security, food security, supply chain security, emerging technologies utilized by terrorist networks, cyber security, and climate-induced instability."The MEA claims that the top security officials also examined the proceedings and results of the "Security in the use of Information and Communication Technologies" and "BRICS Joint Working Groups on Counter-Terrorism" that took place earlier this month and on May 21–22 of this year.The leaders offered their support for furthering BRICS collaboration, especially with regard to bolstering member capacities, improving information sharing, and coordinating BRICS law enforcement agencies to jointly combat cyber threats and terrorism. According to the statement, "They reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including through countering the use of new technologies being used by them."

"Under the theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,' the NSAs/Heads of Delegation fully endorsed India's 2026 BRICS Chairship. They held a combined call on Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi following the meeting's completion, it continued.
