On Tuesday, the PuriSrimandir administration requested prompt action from Uttar Pradesh authorities against the planned premature Rath Yatra. The celebration and associated ceremonies should only take place on the designated traditional dates, the administration stressed.

A banner promoting the celebration of Netrotsav on June 13 and Rath Yatra on June 14 reportedly went viral. The local Bhagwan Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra Seva Samiti in Uttar Pradesh is in charge of organising the events.According to the traditional calendar, Netrotsav is on July 14 and the annual Rath Yatra is on July 16, according to Padhee's correspondence with the district administration.
"No rituals of Lord Jagannath should be conducted untimely, whether it is Snana Purnima, Rath Yatra, or any other ritual," Padhee stated when discussing the matter. An organization in Uttar Pradesh officially informed us that it would be holding an unscheduled Rath Yatra. After that, we called the district administration where the initiative is being presented and asked them to halt it under the guidance of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.

"As devotees, our sentiments are hurt when the rituals of Lord Jagannath are conducted at an untimely date," he continued. We ask all followers to adhere to the customs of Jagannath culture.
Organisers Support Their Choice
In the meantime, the festival's promoters defended their choice to host it in June.
The event was planned with their convenience and school holidays in mind, according to representatives of the Bhagwan Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra Seva Samiti. They added that they had been planning Rath Yatra festivities for the previous 26 years and that local priests and intellectuals had advised them on the final dates."This year, we are celebrating Rath Yatra on June 14," stated committee member Sanjay Singhal. This date was chosen by our priests because it is auspicious.
Additionally, the organisers insisted that they were unrelated to Jagannath Dham in Puri.
