The Odisha Police have yet to make any arrests in the three days since the horrifying daylight murder of BJP leader and senior counsel Pitabas Panda in Berhampur.
Despite intensive questioning of at least 30 individuals and multiple leads, the investigation remains wide open, with officials confirming that the case is being treated as a pre-planned assassination rather than a random act of violence.
Police Yet To Trace Assailants
On Monday, Pitabas Panda was shot dead near his residence in Baikuntha Nagar under Baidyanathpur police limits.

The identification of suspects, the examination of CCTV footage, and the tracking of the shooters' escape route are just a few of the aspects of the case that six specialised police teams, each led by a senior officer, are working on concurrently, he added.
According to sources, more than 30 people have been questioned, more than 75 CCTV cameras' footage has been examined, and searches have been carried out at 20 different sites in the most recent development.
