The Bihar Assembly Election was the "best-ever performance" by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the poll agency in any election to date, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
At the end of the Bihar election, 67.13 percent of voters cast ballots, the highest percentage since 1951. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government won a resounding victory in the two-phase election, which ended on November 11. Vote counting started on Friday.
3.75 crore voters, or 65.08% of the total, cast ballots in the first round of voting on 121 seats. 3.70 crore voters cast ballots in the second round of voting on 122 seats, increasing the turnout to 66.91 percent.

According to the poll agency, 2,616 candidates running for the state's 243 seats did not request a recount.
"In the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, there will be no recounts. 2,616 contestants did not request another poll. Twelve recognized political parties did not want new elections, according to an Election Commission statement.
On October 1, the poll agency also released the final electoral list for Bihar, which included 7.42 crore voters and deleted almost 47 lakh names.
"With 7,45,26,858 electors on the final Electoral Roll, there were no appeals during SIR in Bihar. There were no appeals from any of the 12 recognized political parties in any of the 38 districts, according to the EC statement.

Following the first phase of the SIR, which removed 65.6 lakh names from the lists, the draft roll was released on August 1. Following document verification and the submission of objections, an additional 3.66 lakh names were eliminated and 21.5 lakh names were added in the months that followed.
