Windows 10 Support Ending Soon

Post-October 14, 2025, Windows 10 will continue to function, but without official updates:

  • No Security Updates: Devices will be exposed to potential vulnerabilities.

  • No Software Updates: Applications may not run optimally on outdated systems.

  • No Technical Support: Users will lack assistance for troubleshooting or issues.

This situation poses a significant concern for Indian users, especially in sectors relying on legacy systems. Without timely upgrades, devices could become susceptible to malware and operational disruptions.

1. Upgrade to Windows 11

If your hardware meets the system requirements, upgrading to Windows 11 is the recommended path. Windows 11 offers enhanced security features, improved performance, and a modern user interface. However, not all older devices are compatible with Windows 11.

2. Extended Security Updates (ESU)

For users unable to upgrade immediately, Microsoft offers the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. This program provides critical security patches for an additional year, extending support until October 13, 2026, for consumers. To qualify, users must have a Microsoft account and enroll through the Windows Update settings. Alternatively, users can pay a fee of $30 or redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to receive updates.
