Winters chill makes Odisha tremble, and Rourkela records the lowest minimum temperature.

Over the previous few days, temperatures in Odisha have sharply dropped as cold wave conditions tightened their hold. With a minimum temperature of 10.5°C last night, Rourkela became the state's coldest city. In just six days, there is reportedly a dip of about six degrees.
Residents are preparing for a cold spell as the temperature has continued to drop in a number of northern and western districts. As dry northerly winds predominate in the area, weather forecasters predict that frigid conditions will likely prevail for the next few days.
The most recent reports state that Sambalpur and Hirakud reported minimum temperatures of 14.2°C and 14.8°C, respectively, while Jharsuguda recorded a minimum temperature of 10.6°C.

With a minimum temperature of 15.5°C, Bhubaneswar, the state capital, felt the effects of winter. In the meantime, there was a discernible drop in the lowest temperature in coastal areas like Gopalpur (17°C) and Balasore (17.1°C).
Odisha's interior and western regions are experiencing severe cold due to the ongoing drop in temperature, which is made worse by morning fog and chilly winds.
According to meteorologists, temperatures may continue to decline in the upcoming days, indicating the state's gradual transition to winter.
