A man from Uttar Pradesh murders his sister because her father intends to utilise ₹5 lakh in land compensation funds for her wedding.

Over a money dispute, a guy in Gorakhpur city killed his sister, broke her limbs, and disposed of her body in Kushinagar district, which is around 70 kilometres away, according to police on Thursday.
They added that after the accused confessed, the body was found late on Wednesday night.

The police claim that Ram Ashish Nishad, 32, killed his sister Neelam, 19, in a fight over ₹5 lakh their father, Chinku Nishad, got as payment for land he had purchased as part of a road project. Ram was upset that Chinku intended to use the funds for Neelam's wedding and insisted on receiving a portion.

While other family members were away, Ram came to the house on October 27. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) City Abhinav Tyagi, he crushed Neelam's limbs, strangled her with a piece of cloth, placed her body into a sack, attached it to his bike and dumped it in a Kushinagar sugarcane field.

At first, Neelam's father thought she had gone for Chhath Puja when she vanished. But when the authorities looked at CCTV footage after neighbours reported seeing Ram riding away with a big sack, they discovered that he had done so.
Ram first pretended not to be aware of the murder during the interrogation, but he eventually admitted to it. According to Tyagi, Neelam's decomposing body was found in the field.
