A paratrooper was hurt in a gunfight in Kishtwar, J&K, between terrorists and security personnel.

aFollowing a gunfight between militants and security personnel in the Kishtwar district on Wednesday, a paratrooper was hurt and taken to a hospital in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir.
According to officials, the encounter began when the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint operation in the Chhatru area based on information about militants in the area.
Following the start of the search operation in the early morning, security personnel were fired upon, leading to a gunfight.
"In an intelligence-based operation, launched in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police early this morning, alert troops of the White Knight Corps established contact with terrorists in the general area of Chhatru," the White Knight Corps wrote on X.

The post further stated, "The operation is in progress."
There have been multiple engagements along the border between the districts of Doda and Udhampur as a result of the security forces keeping a watchful eye on terrorist movements in the hilly area.
Six meetings in Kishtwar during the last seven months
Notably, within the last seven months, Kishtwar has seen six encounters as soldiers continue to hunt for militants from Pakistan who may be hidden in the highlands.
Terrorists and military personnel engaged in combat in the Chhatru region on September 21. On September 13, an encounter in the Naidgram region of Chhatru resulted in the deaths of two army men, including a junior commissioned officer, and the injuries of two more.

On August 11 and July 2, there were also violent clashes in the Dul and Chhatru belts, but the terrorists were able to flee.
Two terrorists and one soldier perished in a battle in Chhatru on May 22. Additionally, on April 12, the army stopped an attempt at infiltration along the Line of Control in the Akhnoor area, and three terrorists were killed in Kishtwar.
