A womans severed skull was found about 40 kilometers away from the Malkangiri body retrieval site.

The decapitated head of a lady was found by Malkangiri police on Wednesday, about forty kilometers from the location where her headless body was discovered the previous week. According to sources, the recovery was made during a follow-up inquiry near a riverbed near a Kanya Ashram in Rakhelguda. Villagers informed the officers, who raced to the scene.
The woman's headless body was reportedly found on December 4. But the missing head hasn't been found until now, which has increased hostilities and tensions between the villages of Rakhelguda and MV-26 over the previous few days.
To find out what caused the horrific event, police have stepped up their investigation. Authorities claimed that after the murder, disputes between the two nearby communities were exacerbated by the head's absence.

A conflict between two villages was reported.
According to sources, there had been a protracted conflict between the two villages due to the unsolved retrieval of the head. Following the incident, both sides voiced concerns and claimed culpability, and the conflict persisted for several days.
According to officials, the find occurred today as a result of villagers alerting investigative teams to the severed head's position close to the river.
The headless body of the woman, who was reportedly from Rakhelguda, was found a day after she vanished on December 3. In the impacted areas, the situation led to protests, including meetings and altercations.
Earlier, while police continued to examine the discovered remains, searches were conducted to find the missing body part. Since the incident, investigators have continued to conduct searches in several locations.

Peace Talks Have Already Taken Place
Following the initial disturbance between MV-26 and Rakhelguda, senior personnel, including the DIG and Superintendent of Police, met with members of both villages at a district-level peace committee meeting in Malkangiri on Tuesday.
According to the SP, legal constraints and security deployment persisted in the area during the tense time, and a peace agreement had been negotiated.
According to the most recent sources, the severed head has been secured as part of the murder investigation. The retrieved remains are still being examined, and related investigations are being conducted.
