After Jasprit Bumrah scores 54 runs in the most recent IPL 2026 loss over SRH, the Mumbai Indians react.

Jasprit Bumrah's IPL 2026 stats thus far include eight games, 180 balls, two wickets, and a strike rate of 90. This season has been extremely difficult by the high standards Bumrah has set for himself over the years. Bumrah's accurate bowling has nearly always coincided with the Mumbai Indians' steady results. But both have faced challenges this time. Bumrah's economy rate has exceeded eight runs per over for the first time since 2015. At the moment, it is 8.80. For a bowling legend like Bumrah, the slide might not be to his taste, even though many bowlers would gladly accept that figure. More significantly, MI is suffering from Bumrah's lack of wickets.Following MI's most recent defeat to SRH, batting coach Kieron Pollard acknowledged that Bumrah "hasn't been up to the mark" during the post-match press conference.
"When a cricket player isn't performing well, we consider every possible explanation. Regarding Jasprit Bumrah, there is no distinction. He has been doing this for many years. Additionally, he has the right to make mistakes, have a bad day, a bad season, or a bad few months since he is a person. And I simply believe that we should occasionally take note of the positive things he has accomplished.

In the news conference following the defeat against SRH, Pollard stated, "Yes, we try to live in the present, and he hasn't been up to the mark, but he's still been a number one bowler for Mumbai Indians and India over a period of time."
Additionally, Pollard was very open about his team's current incapacity to put together a "complete game of cricket." Despite losing six of their eight games, the MI batting coach noted that the team is prepared to battle and has not yet conceded defeat. With six games remaining, MI can still reach a maximum of 16 points if they win their next game.

"It hasn't been as reliable as we had planned. The outcomes are seen. You can't avoid it. We haven't performed well enough as a group. All we have to do is improve as a group. You can't ask for more than that. He stated, "You can ask them to perform better in various aspects of the game."To win a match, however, we must play the entire game of cricket. The way cricket is going is becoming challenging, but I can tell with certainty that the boys want to fight in the dressing room.

"We've lost games, but we haven't given up. Since the Mumbai Indians are still very much in the tournament both mathematically and in terms of points, I didn't want the headlines to imply that we had been eliminated. We have conceded defeat because we have lost the previous several games, but we have not conceded defeat because we are still in the tournament. He said, "We still want to go back and see what we can do and how far we can go in this tournament."
