After the OCAC building is destroyed, a tech-biz tower valued at Rs 200 crore will be built in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha government is reportedly planning to demolish the old Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) building in Bhubaneswar to construct a state-of-the-art Technology Business Tower.

According to reports by The New Indian Express, the new tower, projected to cost between Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore, aims to serve as a dedicated space for IT, ITeS, and ESDM companies, as well as startups and innovation hubs.

A Next-Gen Hub for IT and Startups

The upcoming Technology Business Tower will feature approximately 3 lakh square feet of built-up space and will house both OCAC and technology firms.

The reports also added that it is designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and industrial growth, with the facility expected to offer cutting-edge infrastructure with spaces suited for incubation, networking, and research-driven enterprise.

It is worth mentioning that the OCAC currently functions as the technical directorate of Odisha’s Electronics and IT Department and already hosts several IT and ITeS firms in its current premises, along with a new tower, constructed in 2014.

In addition, the selected PMA will also support OCAC in developing seven new technology business parks across Odisha, including a major facility in Keonjhar district, the latter of which is expected to be spread across 4.56 acres with about 1.5 lakh sq ft of built-up space, the report mentioned.
