Odisha will offer free education in government schools and colleges from kindergarten to postgraduate level, according to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who celebrated his second year in office on Friday.
He asserted that Odisha would be the first state in the nation to adopt such a comprehensive free-education project and stated that financial limitations should not be a barrier to higher education. According to Majhi, the free and universal education system will benefit all pupils, especially those from economically disadvantaged groups.
Majhi spoke during a press conference for about two hours on the occasion of the state's first BJP government's two-year anniversary, covering a wide range of topics.

He listed the initiatives of his government, such as persuading the Bengal government to remove the suffix "dham" from Digha Jagannath Temple, the premature Rath Yatra organised by Iskcon, the Mahanadi water dispute with Chhattisgarh, and the land dispute over Kotia in Koraput district with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Majhi described his government as people-centric and said that in the last two years, it had implemented 121 social and developmental programs, such as the complete free-education plan and initiatives for economically disadvantaged groups.
However, Majhi stated that resolving the effects of natural disasters and providing employment chances for young people will be his two main difficulties in the upcoming days. For this reason, we are focusing on the state's industrial growth.

Additionally, he declared that each citizen will receive an extra 5 kg of rice under the food security program, bringing the total amount allotted to 10 kg. He also discussed the development of "Lakhpati didis" and the empowerment of women.
Regarding the purported decline in law and order, Majhi asked his detractors to provide any instance in which the perpetrators were not caught. Additionally, he declared that combating corruption would continue to be the main focus of his administration.
Additionally, the chief minister informed reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would return on June 20 for a state-level function. "After attending seven times in 14 months, the Prime Minister's upcoming visit reflects his ongoing endorsement and support for Odisha's progress," Majhi stated.

Additionally, he stated that the state administration was actively considering the demand for a pension for journalists. He did not, however, commit to growing his ministry or filling positions in different organisations. Additionally, he subtly criticised the previous administration for failing to provide villages with basic services throughout its 24 years in power.
Majhi described the chief minister's grievance cell's operation as his greatest accomplishment, saying that people may now freely raise questions and engage in public conversation. "Even journalists were prohibited from accessing the state secretariat, Lok Seva Bhavan. "Things have changed now," he remarked.

However, the opposition BJD claimed that the BJP's Nari Shakti Vandan slogan had turned into a farce.
