Amid a dispute over compensation and profit-sharing, Shraddha Kapoor leaves Ekta Kapoors thriller.

Shraddha Kapoor, currently riding high on the massive success of Stree 2, has reportedly walked out of producer Ekta Kapoor’s next ambitious project.

According to a report by PeepingMoon, the actress opted out of the yet-to-be-titled film after a disagreement over remuneration.

The film, directed by Tumbbad fame Rahi Anil Barve, was to feature Shraddha in the lead role. However, sources claim that a clash occurred between the actress and the producer regarding the payment structure. Shraddha allegedly demanded Rs 17 crore along with a share in the film’s profits. The producers were reportedly unwilling to meet the terms, considering the project’s budget and its female-led narrative, which they felt might not guarantee a high return on investment.

Search for a New Lead Underway

Following Shraddha's exit, the production team is said to be in talks with another top actress to step into the lead role. The film is positioned as a “high-concept thriller,” although specific plot details remain under wraps.

Shraddha's Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Shraddha Kapoor has confirmed her return in Stree 3, the third installment of the hit horror-comedy franchise by Maddock Films. Scheduled for release on August 13, 2027, the film will once again see her alongside Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee. Stree 2, the latest in the series, was a massive box office success, earning over Rs 800 crore globally.

There are also reports of potential collaborations between Shraddha and producers Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar, and Boney Kapoor, though none have been officially confirmed.
