Amid indignation over his comments against Brahmin women, the MP government dismisses an IAS officer.

Santosh Verma, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was removed by the Madhya Pradesh government late on Thursday from his position as deputy secretary (agriculture) and his dismissal was recommended to the central government. The government cited forged documents that Verma allegedly used to elevate himself from the state administrative service.
Outrage at Verma's claimed disparaging comments against Brahmin women led to the action. Following the viral success of Verma's videos, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered his dismissal. Verma is allegedly heard in one of the recordings stating that caste-based reservations need to last until a Brahmin "donates his daughter to his son or a relationship is established between them."

The Brahmin community was so outraged by the remark that they announced a protest against Verma at Yadav's home on Sunday. They said that Verma had offended them, insulted women, and made inappropriate remarks.

According to Yadav, a departmental investigation into claims that Verma used falsified and forged documents to gain a certificate of integrity for his promotion is nearing its conclusion. Santosh Verma's response to a show-cause notice is inadequate. He keeps making disrespectful remarks. As a result, it has been decided to file charges against him. Regarding a forgery case filed against Verma, Yadav stated that he has ordered strict action.

When Verma was arrested in 2021 after a lady accused him of beating her and proposing marriage, the state government suspended him. Verma was being investigated by the department after he was freed on bail.
According to the chief minister's office (CMO), a recommendation to remove him from the IAS has been forwarded to the federal government since he was promoted from the state administrative service using purportedly falsified and counterfeit directives clearing him of criminal charges. "Verma is the subject of ongoing criminal prosecutions in multiple courts. The CMO issued a statement saying, "The IAS promotion obtained based on fraud and forged documents is invalid."

Verma was allegedly heard blaming the high court of being unfair to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates by prohibiting them from becoming civil judges despite the reservation. Verma did not answer calls for a response to the action against him. "We demand a guarantee of adherence to the Constitution from this same high court."
He allegedly says, "How many Santosh Vermas will you kill, how many will you burn, how many will you swallow?" in another video. You won't be able to burn every Santosh Verma after one has emerged from every home.

Days after making the contentious remarks at the SC and ST Officers and Employees Association meeting in Bhopal on November 23, Verma was assigned to the General Administrative Department pool without a job. Verma was chosen to be the association's president.
