An ex-Indian star praises a Rajasthan Royals star, saying that "no one talks about him."

Even though Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals has been playing well in the current IPL 2026, former Indian cricket player Aakash Chopra feels that his performances are being disregarded. With 306 runs in nine games thus far, Jaiswal has been instrumental in leading his club to the top half of the IPL standings. But his opening partner, 15-year-old phenom Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, has eclipsed him. The youthful player has a strike rate of more than 238 and has amassed 400 runs, including a century. Despite maintaining great numbers in the IPL, Chopra lauded Jaiswal, pointing out that he was a member of the T20 World Cup 2024 winning team but has not been selected since.

Since Jaiswal was benched for the 2025 T20I series against England, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson have emerged as the front-runners. The left-handed batsman hasn't participated in a T20I in the past two years and wasn't selected for the Asia Cup.
"If you look at his IPL stats over the past three years, you can see that he has a good average and strike rate in addition to scoring runs. He's doing everything correctly. But forget about selection—he doesn't even participate in the discussion. The actions taken after 2024 were equivalent to removing a fly from milk and discarding it. "What went wrong with the guy?" he continued.

India will next play Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against Zimbabwe and Ireland, but Jaiswal's outstanding IPL results will be necessary for the team to be selected for the series.
