According to reports, former Prince Andrew has been arrested on charges of misconduct in public service at his temporary residence, the Sandringham estate. A "thorough assessment" led to his arrest, according to Thames Valley Police, and an inquiry has since been launched, the BBC reported. Additionally, the police disclosed that they were "assessing" claims that in 2010, infamous billionaire and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein received trading reports from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

"After conducting a comprehensive evaluation, we have initiated an inquiry into this claim of misconduct in public office," the statement read. "As we collaborate with our partners to look into this alleged offense, it is critical that we preserve the objectivity and integrity of our investigation.
Around eight plainclothes officers and six unmarked police cars were spotted arriving at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate earlier in the morning, according to Reuters.
On the morning of his 66th birthday, he is arrested.
Police will be allowed "to access computer equipment, files, photographs, any other evidence" if Andrew is arrested, according to former Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Dal Babu, who spoke to the BBC. He went on to say that any property he owns, occupies, or controls may be searched.UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer Regarding Andrew's Accusations
According to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, "nobody is above the law" today. He told the BBC that, "Anybody who has got information relating to any aspect of violence against women and girls has, in my view, a duty to come forward, whoever they are."
"Everyone is equal under the law and nobody is above the law," he continued, "and it is absolutely vital that that is enforced across the board. This is one of the fundamental principles of our system.
Epstein Connections with Former Prince Andrew
Following the publication of three million pages of previously unseen emails, documents, and images from the Epstein Files, pressure had been building on the former prince and his relationship with Epstein. There were allegations that in 2010 and 2011, Andrew purposefully gave Epstein private information regarding his official position as a trade envoy. According to the most recent batch of Epstein Files, Andrew forwarded along information about his travels to Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Additionally, he disclosed private information regarding potential investments.
Because of his affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew's brother, King Charles III, officially revoked his royal titles in 2025.
Epstein's trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre claimed that Andrew had intercourse with her when she was just 17 years old. Andrew was exiled from his royal house and deprived of his remaining titles by King Charles III within weeks of the publication of Giuffre's book.

Although Andrew has long disputed Giuffre's charges, he resigned from his royal duties following a disastrous BBC interview in November 2019 in which he tried to refute her claims. Giuffre sued him civilly in New York, and in 2022, he paid millions in an out-of-court settlement. He acknowledged Giuffre's suffering as a sex trafficking victim but did not confess to any involvement.
