According to reports, Cricket Australia (CA) would permit Australian players to fulfil their obligations during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, even though the IPL playoffs week coincides with a three-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan. Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and Tim David won't be impacted by Australia's three ODI visit to Pakistan from May 30 to June 4. A CA representative affirmed that Australian players "will still be in the IPL and will complete their commitments," according to Cricbuzz.
The Punjab Kings (PBKS), led by Ricky Ponting, have five of the 15 Australian players competing in the current IPL 2026.
The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Thursday that Pakistan will host Australia in a one-day international series consisting of three matches later this month. However, a handful of prominent Australian players will not travel to Pakistan as a result of Cricket Australia's decision.
The tour is a part of Australia's second white-ball tour to Pakistan, which began with a three-match Twenty20 series in January and early February in preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup. In that series, Pakistan defeated Australia 3-0.
Australia will play the first ODI in Rawalpindi on May 30 after arriving on May 23. The final two games will take place in Lahore on June 2 and 4.
